Christmas Tree Lightings and Santa!
This year Nicole and I took Layla to the Legoland Christmas Tree lighting on Monday November 130th! Tori and Dean were supposed to light the tree but they were not able to make it, someone was sick! Oh well, we had fun even though we weren’t able to see Tori! The tree was huge and made entirely of Legos! After the tree was light it even snowed, I know right, in Carlsbad, and there were fireworks!!
Guy and I took Layla down to the Oceanside tree lighting on Thursday December 3rd. We rode down on our bikes all bundled up! This is now a tradition for our family! Santa arrived on a fire truck and the Marine Corps band was there playing Christmas music!
The “Team” took Layla to see Santa in the wind and rain on Monday December 7th at the Carlsbad Mall this year! Layla was super excited, stomping her little feet, dancing around in circles…
When we got up to the front of the line before it was our turn Santa took off his hat and Layla kept saying “More hat!” and “Hi!” BUT when we got up to Santa, when it was our turn to sit on his lap, she wanted nothing to do with it!! At first I sat next to her and they were going to crop me out of the picture but it didn’t seem to put her at ease at all so Santa said, if she was going to cry anyway he would just hold her! Of course we took advantage of the photo opportunity and tortured her! We put Layla on Santa’s lap and let her cry! Hopefully we didn’t do too much long term damage! The picture is adorable, I guess everyone needs at least one crying on Santa’s lap picture in their repertoire!!
May your holidays be filled with happiness and no tears!!
