June 27th through 30th
Day 1 June 27th
We checking in at the Disneyland Hotel and Layla got her Birthday pin. She didn’t quite get why we had to check-in, valet the car, and leave our bags with the bellman since our room wasn’t ready, she just wanted to, GO TO DISNEYLAND!
Ellery joined us for our 4 day adventure at Disneyland. We think we figured out that she had not been to Disneyland since she was about 4 years old and had never stayed at The Disneyland Hotel! She was going to have a blast and our goal was to convince her that THE REAL DISNEYLAND blows that Disney World place away! We ended up being successful!
Ellery posing with the Mickey Mouse statue in front of The Disneyland Hotel!
The girls walking down Main Street!
As we walked down Main Street, I had one thing on my mind, the pregnant lady wanted a giant pickle! Cute photo opportunity too!
Here we are at Membership buying Layla her first Annual Disneyland Pass!
We stopped, to check out a show in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.

Our little family, Me, Guy and Layla in line for Peter Pan.
Near Sleeping Beauty’s Castle we ran into the Snow White and the Evil Queen. We saw the Evil Queen a little while earlier in Fantasy Land, she walked right by Layla and in her Evil Queen voice she said, “Step aside Layla,” She must have read Layla’s name on her Birthday pin.
We had to get autographs and photos. The Evil Queen even asked Layla, “Who is the fairest one of all?” and Layla replied by pointing at the Evil Queen and saying, “You.” She loves the princess’ but she definitely has a fondness for the villains. It goes without saying, but The Evil Queen loved her after that!
Next, we ran into The Fairy Godmother! When it was Layla’s turn to go up and chat, get autographs and hugs. Layla said to her, “Bibiddy Boppity Boo!” and The Fairy Godmother loved it and said, “Ooh, you know my magic words!” The Fairy Godmother also asked Layla, “Who is your favorite princess?” and Layla replied, “All of them!” Fairy Godmother loved that!
This is double trouble as they left us for some big kid fun! Nicole and Ellery went to ride Space Mountain while Guy, Layla, and waited in line at Pixie Hollow to see Tinkerbell.

A big hug for Terrence! He is the Pixie Dust Keeper in Pixie Hollow and very good friends of Tink!
Of course we saw Tinkerbell, got hugs, an autograph, photos, and chatted for a bit!
Layla loves Tink!
We even got a family photo with Tink.
On our way into Tomorrow Land we ran into Ariel. We got a quick photo because she mentioned she was in a rush to meet the other princesses for tea!
A bright, colorful, fun band was marching along behind us as we made our way into Tomorrow Land.
Nicole and Ellery on the Astro Orbitor rockets!
Taking a break in Tomorrow Land.
Next we went over to Tarzan’s Tree House. Ellery and I sat and rested, the pregnant momma needed a break, it was HOT! Nicole and Guy took Layla up into the tree house for some fun!

Next it was a ride on the Pirates of the Caribbean!

While we waited for the parade, Guy got a cool shot of a Disneyland Mickey balloon while playing with the new camera lens.
Minnie and Mickey’s Float.
A big yawn and a wave!
Our room at the Disneyland Hotel! Ellery loved the pillows that say, “A dream is a wish your heart makes when you’re fast asleep”

Totally dorking out!! I am all geared up with my ears, my Minnie shirt, lanyard, pins and Layla’s autograph book! But, like I have said before, if you can not get your “dork on” at Disneyland with your kid where can you!! What can I say, I get into it while we’re there!
In the afternoon, on day two Nonna and Papa arrived and met us! They also had a room at The Disneyland Hotel and were going to stay with us for the rest of the trip! We saved going to Princess Fantasy Fair until they got there. Layla kept asking if we could go but we really wanted Nonna and Papa to see how magical it was for her to chat with the princesses. So the first thing we did with Nonna an Papa was go see the princesses!
Layla with Ariel.
Mommy, Layla, and Daddy.
The whole gang, Layla’s “Peeps” as she calls them, her personal Entourage! Ellery, Papa, Mommy, Daddy, Nonna, and Ahta!

Donna, Ellery and I waiting in line for Alice in Wonderland.
A wave from Alice in Wonderland.
A tea cup photo with Nonna and Papa! This one doesn’t move, thank goodness, Nonna doesn’t do rides that go in circles!
Layla with Mommy, Daddy, Nonna, and Papa.
Next, we went back to our hotel room because there would be special surprises waiting for Layla! Here she is walking into the room seeing her surprises! We had a princess balloon bouquet and a Cinderella birthday cake delivered to surprise her! She thinks Minnie brought the balloons and Mickey delivered her cake!
Here she is taking an up close look at her Cinderella cake.
And of course tasting the frosting.
From the look on her face, I think she likes it! Happy Third Birthday Layla! We all love you very much!
Donna and I were all smiles after watching Layla enjoy her surprise and helping her enjoy her cake! After cake, it was back into the park for dinner! Seems a bit backwards but at Disneyland it is okay to have desert then dinner!
We had reservations at The Blue Bayou restaurant which is inside of Pirates of the Caribbean.
Waiting to be seated.
After dinner, My dad, Guy, Nicole, and Ellery went to ride the new Star Tours ride. So Nonna, Layla, and I went on the Jungle Cruse and to the Tiki Room.
After they did Star Tours and we did Jungle Cruise and The Tiki Room, met at the Matterhorn so Papa could ride with Layla in his lap like he did with me when I was little! She loves the Matterhorn and so does her papa! I wish I could have ridden with them but being pregnant I will have to wait to ride a roller coaster with my Dad and Layla together! It was very special knowing that they were riding a roller coaster together! The first of many I hope!
Day 3 June 29th
So cute in our matching classic Mickey shirts! A little dorky yes, but we were having fun, and that’s what counts! We started off day three with brunch reservations at Goofy’s kitchen, a character dining experience at The Disneyland Hotel!
Layla in her classic Mickey shirt and ears!
Layla was so happy to have her Nonna and Papa at Disneyland with her! Just look at that big smile!
A group photo before breakfast! Me, Nicole, and Ellery! All in our shirts and ears!
All of the girls!
The whole group with Chef Goofy!
Layla and Goofy!
My dad has always loved Goofy! Goofy has been his favorite Disney character since I could remember! He had fun posing with Goofy!
“My man Goof”
Chip was the first character to visit our table and he received a big Layla hug!
As did Pluto! Pluto was there when Layla’s next surprise arrived! Yes, another birthday cake! But, this time it came in a princess treasure box! Everyone sang to her and Pluto helped her blow out her candle! Talk about magical!
At our table next was, Baloo the Bear! Smooches for him!
Ellery Loves Baloo and had to get a photo with him too!
Then came Dale! He got some Layla lovin’ too!
Finally, The Mad Hatter himself! He was super fun! He stayed at our table and talked for a while! He was sure silly, maybe a bit mad!
Nicole and the Mad Hatter.
Hugs for the Mad Hatter.
All of the girls after brunch!
Walking through Downtown Disney on a super hot Southern California day. California Adventure was on the agenda for the morning. My Dad and Donna had never been and Layla wanted to take them on the new Little Mermaid ride.
Waiting in line for The Little Mermaid ride!
Layla enjoying having her Nonna and Papa with her! How fun for her to show them all of the things she loves at Disneyland and California Adventure!

Me and Miss Ellery! So glad we got to share this adventure with her too!
In the giant clam shell ready to ride through Ariel’s undersea world with Nonna and Papa!
The whole group!
Ellery and Layla on the giant Ferris wheel! Papa, Guy, Ellery and Layla went on the Ferris wheel while those of us who are not fans of the Ferris wheel (Nicole, Donna and myself) waited in line for the Woody ride!
Layla ready to score big on Toy Story Midway Mania, Woody’s ride! She rode with Nona and Papa and when they got off after the ride was over she was jumping up and down saying, “I won, I won!” Too funny!
Giving Buzz a high five!
Ellery and Buzz.
While Guy and my dad enjoyed California Screaming, a super fun looping roller coaster the rest of us enjoyed another ride on King Triton’s Carrousel, Donna stayed stationary and just took pictures because, carrousels go round and round!
Layla and Ellery on King Triton’s under sea carrousel.
Layla was starving, so we took a hotdog break and she handled pretty much and entire hotdog herself!
Full belly plus tired girl equals totally passed out! While she slept, Guy hung out with her so my dad, donna, Ellery, Nicole and I could go on Soaring Over California. I knew my dad would love it and he did!
Another group photo leaving California Adventure! This may be one of the last photos of the Golden Gate Bridge at California Adventure! They took it down because they are redoing the entrance.
We learned something new about Disneyland on this trip. If you wait for the Monorail and ask to sit up front with the driver they will let you! We all got an opportunity to do it! Guy, Layla and I were they last ones on the trip to get a chance, here we are up front with the driver of the Monorail!
Day 4 June 30th
Disneyland Hotel Pool & Waterslides!
We saved the last day of our trip for hanging out at the pool, going on the waterslides, and shopping for souvenirs!
We arrived at the pool in the morning before any of the slides were open. Layla had fun swimming in the regular pool and splashing in the water fountains at the bottom of the waterslides while we waited for them to open!
Of course she wore her Minnie bikini, with her matching Minnie cover up and Minnie towel, all from Nonna and Papa for her birthday with this trip in mind! She looked adorable!
Woohoo! The two small water slides opened first! She totally loved them! And did not need to wear a life vest, she just handled them like a pro!
Next it was time to conquer the big ones! She totally loved those too! She was required to wear a life vest which is the first time in her life she has ever worn anything to make her float! She was tripping out a little on the fact that the vest just kept her afloat! Every time she came off of the big slide she asked, “Can I do it again? Can I do it again?” She must have ridden down it 50 times! After a half day at the pool, in the sun, riding huge water slides, and souvenir shopping the little stinker didn’t nap on our ride home? How is that possible! I napped and so did Ellery! I didn’t even go on any water slides, oh, wait, I’m pregnant and just spent 4 days walking all over the Disneyland resort! That’s why I was tired!
At the bottom of the big slide!
Cruising down the big slide!
Floating toward to steps to do it again!
At the top, ready to go again!
On our way back up, to, yes, DO IT AGAIN!!
It was an absolute blast to get to watch her have so much fun! Nonna and Papa even joined us down at the pool for a while to watch her! They got a kick out of her handling those huge slides too! It was a bummer not to be able to do it with her. Water slides are not recommended during pregnancy! But Daddy, Ahta, and Ellery got to go, and I will next summer!
It was an awesome vacation, it is so fun to watch her take in all of the magic at Disneyland! All of the grown ups had fun acting like kids and enjoying to magic too! Getting to share Disneyland with Nonna, Papa, and Ellery made it even more special!
